Residential Vastu Consultation for Flats, Bungalows and Villas

A home Vastu consultation looks at how your flat, bungalow or villa is laid out and how each room is placed in relation to direction. Dr. Rajashree S. Chaudhari and her team then recommend changes suited to your home and your family's concerns.

Site visits are carried out across Mumbai and nearby regions, and in other cities on request. Clients elsewhere in India or abroad can also book an online consultation.

Timing

When a Home Vastu Consultation Helps Most

Before buying a flat or house

Compare shortlisted properties before you commit. This is the stage where you have the most choice.

Before building a new home

Plan the placement of the entrance, rooms, staircase and water tank before construction starts.

Before a renovation

If you are already breaking walls or redoing the kitchen, it is the easiest time to make Vastu changes.

When you have concerns about your current home

If you have specific concerns about your home, a consultation can identify what may need attention and what can be changed.

Flats and apartments

Vastu for Flats in Mumbai

Most homes in Mumbai are flats in multi-storey buildings. That changes how Vastu is applied:

  • You cannot change the building. The direction of the building, the main gate and the lift lobby are fixed. The consultation focuses on what is inside your flat.
  • Your flat's entrance matters more than the building's. The direction your own main door faces is assessed separately from the building entrance.
  • Space is limited. Recommendations take into account that rooms cannot always be moved, and focus on placement, use and arrangement within the existing layout.
  • Society rules apply. Some changes need society approval. Recommendations are made with this in mind.
  • Remedies without demolition. Where a room cannot be moved, such as a toilet in the north-east, remedies are used to correct the imbalance without structural work.
  • Rented flats. Recommendations for rented homes focus on remedies and changes that do not alter the structure.

Room by room

What a Home Vastu Consultation Covers

During the consultation, each area of your home is checked for its direction and placement, and against how your family actually uses it:

  • Main entrance
  • Living room
  • Kitchen, including the position of the stove and sink
  • Master bedroom and bed position
  • Children's room and study desk
  • Puja room
  • Toilets and bathrooms
  • Staircase (bungalows and villas)
  • Overhead and underground water tanks

There is no single rule that fits every home. The right placement depends on the property, its directions and the people living in it, which is why every recommendation is specific to your home.

Plots and new homes

Vastu for Residential Plots and New Homes

If you are buying land or building a home, a consultation before construction covers:

  • Plot shape: Square and rectangular plots are traditionally preferred. Irregular shapes and cuts are assessed individually.
  • Road position: Which sides of the plot face the road.
  • Slope and level: The natural slope of the land.
  • Layout planning: Placement of the entrance, rooms, staircase, water tank and septic tank before the architect finalises the plan.

Working with your architect at the planning stage avoids changes later. Dr. Rajashree and her team work directly with your architect or interior designer when needed.
